Energy-Efficient Water Coolers That Lower Total Operating Costs

This will not be the case for safe water delivery, a growing global problem. Conventional water coolers found in the offices, school, hospitals, and all other public places are incurring high operating costs, at a great expense: electricity. Most typical water coolers of today, those with a conventional compressor based system, are never fully off, they cycle on and off throughout day and night, consuming power unnecessarily when no one is present. "Energy Efficient" water coolers save on this waste, without any loss on cooling performance, with the possibility of the entire operating costs reduced from day one of purchase.

Low-energy cooling technology supports sustainability and cost savings

The main part of any water cooler is the cooling system, and this is where energy waste is the highest. Traditional units use a fixed speed compressor which operates on an on-off cycle. The compressor switches on until it cools the water to the preset temperature and then shuts off completely, only switching back on when the water temperature exceeds the preset limit. It takes less energy to maintain steady state than to restart the compressor. This on/off operation and it will turn on with exactly the same cycle, no matter if it is 2 a.m. or 2 p.m.

Our low-energy cooling system has been designed to reduce this power consumption. This variable speed or thermoelectric cooling system only delivers the energy that is needed at any point in time. If the system is in heavy use, the full cooling output is provided, but when it is idle, the electricity consumption drops proportionally, providing cool, potable water. The system is designed to keep the water temperature stable at all times, and some of our coolers include passive insulation to keep cool for hours without requiring the cooling element to work. It has been calculated that these models can reduce electricity consumption by as much as 30-50%.

Standardized filter interfaces work with common cartridge brands

The other hidden cost is filters. Many manufacturers of water coolers build and sell proprietary cartridges that will only work with the manufacturer's system, meaning that customers cannot purchase equivalent cartridges from other suppliers. In these captive parts systems, replacement cartridges cost 2-3 times the value of typical industry cartridges, and it doesn't take a lot of effort to realize what a long-term expense this becomes. Another problem is that if a supplier discontinues a particular line of filter cartridge for any reason, customers are unable to replace filters in their cooling units.

Standardized filter interfaces eliminate this problem. The cooler's filter head only accepts a certain form and fitting, but not necessarily a certain brand. Our units use filter cartridges that comply with the standard industry fittings, so that any reputable brand cartridge may be used. These competitive rates mean that the total operating cost for the coolers remains low and predictable.

Built-in leak detection automatically shuts off water to prevent damage

A potentially disastrous expense is that of leaks. Small drips can go unnoticed for days or weeks, steadily damaging the flooring, cabinets, and subflooring around the cooler. Large leaks will lead to tens of thousands of dollars in repair bills, business interruption, and remediation for mold growth. The problem with standard water coolers is that they have absolutely no defense against leaks, except perhaps noticing.

Our integrated leak detection system adds a layer of protection for water coolers that doesn't exist elsewhere. An electrical switch will detect a water level where it shouldn't be and cut off the incoming water supply, while also triggering a beeper and light to indicate that a leak has occurred and the cooler has shut off the water flow. This system saves the user from unexpected repair bills and business downtime. Beyond the direct costs of repairs and remediation, these systems also preserve the electrical and insulation components of the unit itself.

These energy efficient coolers are manufactured by Aquatal in our Chinese facilities where research and development is carried out and tested for quality before it is shipped to you. Worldwide, Aquatal operates warehouses, research labs, and logistics offices in the USA, Europe, Africa, and Australia, supplying markets across these continents. Products can either be shipped with the "Aquatal" trademark or through OEMs. It is our goal to keep on providing original and effective products while excelling in all aspects of customer service before and after the purchase.

In addition to these three great features, there are other benefits that reduce overall operating cost, such as accessible panels for maintenance (which reduces the time and therefore the cost of changing filters and servicing the coolers), reliable parts that are designed to withstand years of use, and the continuous investment into development of new models, therefore offering innovation to customers. For any company looking to offer clean, refreshing water without the expense of high operating costs, Aquatal energy-efficient water coolers deliver value.
