Hot and Cold Water Dispensers Require Annual Internal Cleaning

For more than 10 years Aquatal has been pioneering the development of cutting-edge and dependable water treatment systems. The mantra behind any innovative appliance, like our hot and cold-water dispensers, is that you only get as much out as you put in! Internal cleaning should be performed annually and is not only a recommendation, but an important practice to maintain the water you drink pure, safe and great-tasting. It’s an easy little measure in prevention that could save not only your purchase, but your health as well.

Step-by-step descaling with food-grade cleaner

For those with hard water, mineral scale deposits are your dispenser’s heating system archenemy. Efficiency, energy usage and possibly component failure may be affected adversely by this scale. The only way to fix this is descaling. This includes shutting off the unit and disconnecting it from your power source, discharging all water remaining in the tanks, and running a food-safe descaling solution through the system - across the hot water path. After this solution has had time to work (usually for the period recommended on the product label), excellent and very extensive rinsing with clear water is absolutely essential in order to flush away all minerals and traces of cleaner, leaving none behind.

Preventing bacterial growth in water tanks

Although our purifying systems are constructed to have excellent filtration capability, the natural environment inside a dark and closed water reservoir of a dispenser has possibility to be molded. Standing water and room temperature can be conducive to the growth of microbes. The highest protection is annual sanitizing. This includes first running a sanitizing solution (specific to the unit material) through the internal tanks and tubing of your system killing any potential biofilm or bacteria. This procedure – together with the prescribed, periodical exchange of filters ensures that also here your water is not only filtered but equally hygienically stored.

Signs it’s time to sanitize your unit

You should ideally schedule your dispenser for service once per year, but there are certain signs that you might need to have it serviced more often. There may also be an alteration in the taste or odor of the water, particularly from the hot spout. Reduced flow rate If the flow rate is slow, especially at high temperatures, it may indicate a serious blockage of scale. Any white or off-white build up on the heating element or in the tank is a sign descaling is needed as well. We offer our expertise at Aquatal to assist our customers throughout these maintenance checks. Our proven production is supported by the efforts of our customers to make our dispensers provide years of reliable high performance and the proper care is what’s needed alongside advanced technology.
